General Information
We just received a diagnosis, now what?
Don’t worry - you’ve got this! We’ll talk through what the diagnosis means and how to move forward together in parent/caregiver services. Just by seeking support, you’re already taking an important first step.
What is Parent & Caregiver-Led ABA Therapy?
Parent/Caregiver-led ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a collaborative model where caregivers receive coaching and guidance to implement effective behavior strategies within their own routines. This approach is ideal for families who may not have access to, or prefer not to participate in, clinic-based or intensive in-home therapy. It focuses on empowering parents to create meaningful, sustainable change in everyday life.
How is Parent-Led ABA different from traditional ABA?
In traditional ABA, a therapist (usually an RBT) works directly with your child, multiple hours each week, under the supervision of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). In parent/caregiver-led ABA, caregivers receive structured guidance, observation, and feedback to apply strategies independently, directly to their child. This approach promotes consistency, strengthens relationships, and supports progress even when formal sessions aren’t happening.
Does my child need to have a diagnosis for services?
No, a diagnosis isn’t required. We specialize in autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other related developmental disabilities. Services are open to all!
How often are sessions?
Frequency depends on your family’s availability and need. Some families prefer ongoing therapy/training sessions weekly or biweekly, while others may prefer one-time consultations. Together, we’ll determine what feels most effective and sustainable for your household.
